Spending 6000 faction doesn't add Raza to any of your PvE characters.

Oh, and hero battles are only the first thing that comes to mind regarding PvP with heroes.

That's why you can create PvP only characters.

Think before you speak please.

Yes, and every protector title too, and 291 elites capped, Holy Lightbringer, Sunspear Castellan and Incorrigible Ale Hound.

No, I'm complaining on my own behalf. I'd like some fun new content. I've always found 8 man groups in those places a little too easy, but our 3 to 6 man guild groups still have a hoot going there once in a while. Sure, I bet DoA is a nice enough challenge, but I don't have enough hours to waste on pugging the place. I've tried, and by the time I find a group and before that group is ready to go, I've burnt up more than half my gaming hours for the day. Not worth it.
Dude, not only do you have enough time, you have too much time.

Quit GW and do something productive. You're done with this game.

Geez, 19 months playing, and I don't even have UAX. And I even thought that having 5 protector titles total (not 5 characters) was hardcore. They are also the only titles I've managed to max out.

But above all, if with all this you still find DoA hard or even remotely challenging, then you're simply not up to this and never will be. Someone with that much experience should be able to breeze through that place, not to mention have zero problem finding pro groups.

None of that takes any ridiculous amount of time. I just spent a lot of my playing time on one character, doing only PvE, and spending no more than a few minutes per playing session in outposts. When I play I play, I don't muck about.

I don't do 'finding groups', I play with guildies or I play solo. That precludes me from playing DoA and I don't have any problem with that! I'm not complaining DoA is too hard or too whatever. It's great that GW has an area like this. I just have a problem with Nightfall not offering anything else than a storyline and a single hardcore high-testosterone area. They sell this game as a stand-alone game, you know. They damn well better deliver a stand-alone game and don't refer me to SF, UW and FoW to get my endgame kicks.

And speaking of stand-alone games, I'd like to see a group solve those DoA quests with core and Nightfall skills only. That would really impress me.

Like I said, you're done with this game. You've exhausted all the content. Nothing can provide any challenge to you anymore. No ammount of content added will provide any challenge for you anymore. You don't even realize how much effort it takes to do what you did with all the titles, and all the other areas. And as such, you're way past the viable audience, and simply cannot be catered to. You simply belong into the tiny percentile of hardcore for whom the content cannot be provided fast enough, no matter how much of it.

Simply put:

You have beaten Guild Wars in 3125 hours and 17 minutes with a #5 high-score of 17,511. Please enter your initials: _ _ _

1. Why can't we refer you to UW or FoW for your endgame kicks? They are accessible through NF areas, so I can only assume they are there for NF only owners. That means they count as end-game content. What more are you looking for? If you wanted more of a sand-box experience, you should have chosen that type of game. This is why many companies give you trial periods before you buy a game. Do some research if you don't like the endgame content of GW.

2. I would like to repeat myself because I think a lot of people missed it. Look at the name of the game "Guild Wars". Even if you didn't research what game you were spending money on, the name alone should convey some kind of message that this game has a strong PvP basis to it. Guess what, PvP is an obvious choice for end-game content. There are no references to guilds warring in PvE. The only place where there are guild wars is in PvP. This game was designed with PvPer's in mind. ANet, however, also ended up with a very nice PvE design and content. One which, I find, to be very expansive.

3. I'm sure there are ways to finish DoA with just core + NF skills - but, yeah, its probably gonna be a little harder. By the way, ANet is most likely also in the busienss of making money. If they give everyone who bought NF the same thing as they got in Prophecies or Factions, what incentive do people have to buy these campaigns? Please don't forget that we live in a capitalist society.

thats incorrect

if you read the Prophecies manual, you will see "Guild Wars" refers to a time in Tyrian history

the name is based on historical lore
http://www.guildwars.com/gameplay/manuals.php

page 34 of the PDF manual describes the Tyrian timeline

Spending a year in Prophecies, then six months in Factions, that's a heck of a long time to get a few pathetically easy explorer and protector titles on a single character. It doesn't take a lot of effort, nor does it take an excessive amount of time, it just takes some dedication. When started I filling in the Prophecies map (because there suddenly was a title for doing so), it took me all of 2 hours to map every nook and cranny between Camp Rancor and Beacon's moving through with a few guildies and hench monks, and that's one of the largest most challenging explorables in Prophecies. And the protector title? I had all the bonusses months before Factions came out. You're grossly overestimating what it takes to get these titles. I don't feel I'm done with Guild Wars. I'm not bored with it yet, I still find plenty of stuff to entertain me, but it happens to be in areas I paid for more than 1 1/2 year ago.

Unfortunately, Nightfall only added six weeks worth. If it had offered the same content as Prophecies, or even fun stuff like FA, I wouldn't be complaining. I paid the same money for all 3 games and I just don't think Nightfall is worth it. It doesn't deliver like the other games.

Because I paid for those areas 18 months ago. I'd like some value for money from the game I bought less than 2 months ago as well.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Anet have NO obligation to provide you with entertainment for the rest of your life. If you hammer GW and get it finished in no time, you can't blame Anet. I bought a film last week for £15, watched it and thought it was shite. I didn't contact Warner Bros and tell them to release an update with more footage and to change this that and the other. Why people think game producers owe them something I'll never know.

If the game was plop from the get-go then fair enough. Something should be done. But it doesn't crash, has provided entertainment for the most part then we should be grateful of any extras. End of. The mere fact Anet are willing to add FREE extra content is enough for me.

DoA is lot like Hero's Ascent now it’s all about flavor of the month builds that are no more challenging then solo farming but with eight people and it takes no real skill all. Guess Anet had to make a place for the jerry’s kids players who know nothing about skill and balance.

Aside from the gem requirement for Razah, I cant figure out why so many people want a ritualist hero so bad. Am I missing something?

I'm going to thank Anet in advance for the DoA changes.

When I first saw the area was opening, I thought "I'd better hurry and get my (Elonian) ranger through the game". I'm sure my other girls from Tyria and Cantha would also like to visit DoA but they'll have to wait. Then Sanura got stuck at Ruins of Morah, and I began reading the whining tirades about how "un-fun" DoA was and how unreasonably awful Anet had made it to 'beat'. I thought on the matter and decided to play my other 'toons for a bit.

Now I think Sanura will have to brush the dust of Morah off her ancient armor (at last! Female rangers have a version of the duster!) and make her way to the Domain. It may prove frustrating, irritatingly hard and downright momentarily un-doable, but in the end, it too will be overcome. Isn't that what we "Protectors of <fill in the continent>" do?

Besides, the definition of "Anguish" is NOT "fun". It's how you deal with anguish that makes the difference .

Thanks for taking our oppinions into consideration!

but still... what about Razah? Please dear Devs, think about this hero again - a hero without counterpart, and belonging to other chapter, shouldn't be placed in a quest he is now.

There should be more areas where there are no henchies. Go Go teamwork.

Yes, there are stupid people that play the game. That can be said about every aspect of life. Make a guild of friends and go have fun.
Exactly why once I finish Nightfall I retire from the GW.....That is such a one-sided statement...remember some of us have lives and should not be limited to joining a guild or a PUG.....

1.) I have a slow connection so people get "excited" about my slow load times.
2.) I have 4 kids so I frequently have to stop playing in a safe area of a map while I tend to issues. With a PUG the MM gets very anxious with long delays....
3.) My connection / Err7 issues happen once a while so having to find yet another group of people to join with is not that easy.
4.) Because family comes first, I cannot get to the PC at normal times and seem to be in the game at either very early hours in the morning or very late hours in the evening so some of these non-henchie areas are barren.
5.) With henchies I do not have to worry about Rage-Quit which seems to happen a lot in elite areas.

Hopefully ANet will get rid of ALL non-henchie areas before I finish the game.....

Just for the record, the hardness of the mission and the lack of drops I am indifferent on, however, I just want to enjoy it at my own pace......

Hate to say this Gli, but UW/FoW are included in Anets stand alone policy of Nightfall. It can be access, through NF, even if you dont have other chapters. But you do, and you got it early.

The DoA was built, with requirments, and it will have been tested by the Devs, and I do believe they will have finished it.

So, it's possible. We've seen screenies on here of people completing the quests, within 2 weeks. So why the nerf?

It should of been left as it was, for us people that want a challenge. It's the most fun area in GW, I play with my guildies, and we laugh are tits off over TS as we get raped. And when we do well, we're happy. Either way, the challenge makes it fun AND rewarding.

And the torment weapons etc, they were nice to have. When they would of been rare, like I said, rivalling that of Crystalines. But not anymore.

So all you care about is money, not the game.

$50 gave you 20 months of entertainment. Find better value for money. Because everyone will confirm that this you get so much for this money.

And apparently, passing the 3 mil mark in sold copies means that either lots of people are getting ripped off, or that so many people consider NF to be good value for money.

You're making an issue out of something that nobody cares even remotely about.

$35,000 in taxes = Now that's bad value for money. $50 on a game that lasts 20 months = Good value for money. $98,000 on medical bills for ER treatment covered by insurance at $480 a month medical insurance fee - good value for money. $22,000 yearly salary for 12 hour workshifts - bad value. See the relation here...

I've been playing games for Donkeys years, and GW is the best value I've ever had for money.

Apart from maybe the £20 spent to buy Half Life 2, just for CSS.

I don't give a rats ass about the $50 bucks I spent. I'm just unhappy that I didn't get any good stuff for it. I like Guild Wars, I'd have liked some good new fun endgame areas. They could do it with Prophecies, it's just sad they can't do a repeat performance.

50 bucks for 20 months, that's great. 50 bucks for 6 weeks is just sadly underachieving.

And that's the last I'll say about it.

Perhaps drastically changing the way DoA plays. Making it like FoW or UW where a balanced group can go out without worry'ing about getting 1 hitted by an enemy caster.
The monsters there are insanely overpowered.
